Once had a dude (yk like the 15-year olds thinking they're tough and all grown up and trying to impress girls) blasting Eminem on his speaker in public (Cinderella Man was the song). Unfortunately for him, I knew the lyrics so I sang it (I can't sing for the life of me).
He quickly turned it off when I got into the elevator with him.

I'm sorry- but I'm that person who usually keeps to themselves and my awkwardness could never T^T plus he's a freshman.....that'd be kinda creepy
he also fell asleep so he's not playing anything anymore :3

There are people that want to tell everyone about their bad taste in music.

The interesting thing is (at least here in Germany) that you almost always hear the annoying loud sound of crappy Techno or Gangsta Rap (not the good rappers like Eminem, Snoop Dog, Tupac) in young people's cars.
Where are those guys that blast Jazz, Folk, Country, Classical music, Indie Pop, Experimental Electronic music (and K-Pop!) loud?

it's especialy annoying when it happens in public transport and i forget my earphones, half an hour of some random ass loud tiktoks at 9am is something i wouldn't wish on anyone

and don't even get me started on having neighbours like that. luckily the one i have rn broke his temu speaker some weeks ago, but before that he would constantly play some disgusting polish rap where the lyrics were either full of homophobic slurs or about flushing drugs in the toilet.

WE LITERALLY GOT MY BROTHER HEADPHONES FOR CHRISTMAS 20 DOLLAR HEADPHONES AND DOES HE USE THEM? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!
also my dad just does this to annoy the hell out of us, but he has 3 different pairs of headphones, and never brings them with him. I'm like if you can remember to keep up with three phones, three chargers, and an extension cord and bring them EVERYWHERE, you can bring headphones. he can be an ass, he turns it up all the way and just stares at the phone, he plays games like that and we literally have to YELL at him to turn it down. You don't even live with us, if you aren't going to talk to us and you're just gonna stay on the phone, go home.

I can only imagine how freaking annoyed you were! My downstairs neighbor at my old place would put her music on full blast, and the floors were only so thick, so I could defos feel the bass under my feet. It annoyed the crap out of me! Thank God she ended up moving and I got new neighbors who were quiet as mice!

We have that rule here too. At least they know the rules. Maybe your family could find a diplomatic way? Something like buying them a crate of beer and ask them friendly if it would be possible to play their music not that loud during the day? Becoming friends may help much more than calling the police.
