One of my coworkers and good work friends does not care if people are mean/rude/sly to him. He just shrugs it off and keeps working
I told him it's because his dad growing up told him he couldn't cry and that he has to be a man He thinks he's fine though

Oh, believe me - they sure as hell do! I can't count the number of times I'd come home from school in tears bc the boys bullied me for my obsessions. All of it was through words, and I even had to get therapy for it - it was that bad.
