i start appreciating that fact recently though, i have a close friend who often gets invited to things (even in the pandemic) despite being literally the least outgoing person i know and it often goes wrong so after reading some of her whatsapp messages i think to myself that maybe it's better for me to avoid parties so that i don't have to witness these things. i feel bad for her but after all i can't control which people she hangs out with.
