Do you ever feel alone in your family? (1 Viewer)

Like no matter what you do, you maintain convos with your family, and interact everyday but still feel like no one really likes you?
I feel like the only ones that love me like a sister is my younger sis (the one on here) and the only parent that kinda likes me is my mom, but sometimes I feel like that's limited to certain days...

My mom and sis both work in education so they talk about their work all the time, but when I try to talk about my job, they pretend to listen and then when I finish a sentence, they change subject or go away.
I recently also realized that the only reason they sometimes talk to me is because they can travel with me for a cheaper price.

Mind you, they wouldn't let me move to another country after graduation. They did everything they could for me to not leave.
If I didn't have my grandma, my horse, my bunny and my house, I would've left by now to another continent.

That sounds so hurtful, I'm sorry you experienced that, I often feel that way too because my older sister acts so incompetent that I feel like I took her role as older sister

Absolutely. I never realized until recently that I grown up feeling like this at well. I wouldn't say they don't like me, but more so they don't understand how who I am as a person. It's lonely in that aspect. We have drastic different views on life that it creates a lot of tension. Also, emotions are not prioritized in my family most of the time

I'd say moving out definitely didn't help either.
I regret every day that I haven't moved to another continent but I can't sell my horse, he'd end up in the slaughterhouse cuz he can't be ridden

I know how that feels. It helps to put focus on people who want you around and are just as excited to see you as you are to see them. But it does suck to not have a family that cares.

Yes. My family does not respect me. Even before trying to get them to use my name, they'd always find a way to belittle my behavior or interests (being extremely ableist, given I'm autistic but they would never acknowledge that).
I don't understand why it's such a difficulty for them. I didn't even choose a whole new name, it's my legal middle name. On the rare chance they do acknowledge it, they make a huge deal of it, like, "look at me! i'm using it! look! you can stop being such a nuisance now!". I almost never correct them, by the way. I know I could never truly be myself around them, or anyone in my life for that matter.
I don't like to complain about it since it's my fault I don't want to meet new people but
