If it makes you feel better there was a US battleship (called the William D Porter) that accidentally shot a live torpedo at another battleship carrying the president of the US, then accidentally told that battleship that they were backing up instead of that they shot a live torpedo at the battleship. Whatever you did can’t have been as bad as that
