Do you get annoyed with backseat drivers? (1 Viewer)

For anyone unaware, “a backseat driver” is a passenger who gives the driver unwanted advice.

I get annoyed by it also incredibly anxious which just makes me drive worse (or at least I feel like it does) because I’m always second guessing everything I do and I feel like I become “dangerously cautious” if that makes sense.
My mom is a major backseat driver, I feel like I drive 10 time’s better without her in the car (because as I said backseat drivers make me anxious), but the majority of the driving I do shes with me. I always hear:
“Why are you going this way?”
“What are you doing?”
“You’re gonna hit the curb.” (I didn’t)
“The other way would have been faster.”
“Why don’t you turn here?”
And much more

Just please lemme drive, I’ve been driving over 5 years now, been in zero accidents, have zero tickets, I just want to make it 10 minutes without being given advice I didn’t ask for (or really need).

I know she means well, but it’s a very stressful situation to be put in anytime you drive.

agreed. sometimes in a traffic jams/emergency situation where we got calmed & already controlled the situation but then the passenger overreacts about it & somehow makes us as the driver, becomes nervous/panic as well
