I never got the comedy of imitating others, but SOME people think it's acceptable depending on who does it

Voting no because I'm white, but those bottom two videos piss me off. They seriously see nothing wrong with what they're doing, which is what makes it worse.

For me, no. But I understand that some people feel offended if something they identify with is copied or not portrayed in a way that they think is appropriate to the original meaning/cause. So I don't think it is about who does it, but how it is done, and awareness is key. I think this feeling could be more common and intense for people who belong to a minority and use these cultural contents to strengthen their identity "against" the majority. Opinions on this?

If someone (not Irish) puts on an Irish accent and starts acting drunk or whatever I’d just laugh it off. Them imitating my people isn’t that deep to me, because 90% of the time it’s for laughs and giggles, not to be harmful. But if the intention was to put me down because I’m Irish then I would get a bit irritated, but that’s all.

Agreed I think it’s much worse to imitate POC rather than European ethnicities. It can be harmful to both (though most white people don’t get offended) but it’s engraved in racism to portray stereotypes of POC, like what Wendy did in the video OP linked above
