For me: crocheting, nail polish, and TTRPGs.

I picked up a crochet kit to make a Squid Game doll, fully expecting to have to give the kit to my friend who I know has crocheted a bit in the past. And now a year and a half-ish later, I've made about 300 of the things. (That does include duplicate patterns, to be transparent.) I just agreed to make HUNTR/X dolls for a friend's kid, who just recently discovered KPDH.

For nails, I've gone back and forth on owning nail polish and having a couple of colors, but I always got the Sally Hansen or cheap kind of polish you can find at the drug store, and it's fine for, you know, trying something out and not being too committed to it. But this year, I've gotten into boutique polishes, and dang, the quality is noticeable, the colors are better, the options are more fun. I've just purchased some more magnets to be able to do different things with magnet polish, and I find myself painting my nails about every 2-3 days.

For TTRPGs, in 2019, I went to a "learn to play D&D" event, because I had a goal to get out of the house and try something new at least once a month. And the table I ended up playing with was mostly comprised of people who had a real table, and one of them turned to me after and said "you're coming to the real game tomorrow, right?" And so I found myself going to the mall the next day, buying the D&D player's handbook and character sheets and dice, and now I have two tables I'm part of, one where I'm a player and one where I'm a DM, and I've gotten into the broader world of TTRPGs. (Lukewarm take among the community: D&D is perfectly fine, but it's nowhere near the best game system.)

kpop for me, too. I literally just wanted to know the name of the idol in a pic I saw somebody tweet... that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. And yet I found myself agreeing to receive an intro thread about Kim Namjoon (the subject of the pic) and BTS. She was like "would you like me to intro you to the rest of BTS?" and for some odd reason, I said yes... and the very next day, I was downloading their latest album. (it was YNWA at the time) The rest of that is history as well.
