I hate the texture of it but people thought it was funny so they'd rub it on me and now I can't be in the same room as it.

tbh same, even if they dont hurt you their flying movements are so unpredictable and i dont want them to smash in my face therefor i always run away lol

No it's paper that's fuzzy and is used almost exclusively by little kids.
