you bring another group's lightstick to a concert? like bringing a twice lightstick to an nct concert or an itzy concert. i personally think it's ridiculous... those lightstick are already expensive enough... i don't think the idols actually care too as long as you bring something that makes light or show your support by screaming, singing along, bringing a small banner, etc.

No, just change the color of the light stick to much the groups color, like you said I'm pretty sure the idols could care less

It depends, for SuperM bringing any of the og groups lightsticks is totally normal and makes sense. I would feel weird bringing a lightstick of a completely unrelated group to a concert though. Like you could always get those disposeable glowsticks or other cheap things in the groups color instead imo and it makes more sense than bringing a lightstick likely in a different color and design from everyone else.

but a lightstick is very expensive and concerts are pretty much the only place where you use them for their intended purpose. i think it would make sense for people to make as much use as they can of their lightstick no matter what group they are seeing. though, disposable glow stick are always a great cheap option to not offend anyone.

i don't think it's ridiculous because at the end of the day it's just a light but kpop stans can be a bit intense about the dumbest shit ever so i'd just go without a lightstick at all to avoid any mess coming my way

its disrespectful, no one is required to buy the lightstick, literally just use a glowstick/flashlight then

yes it isnt as deep as some people are making it out to be but still its elementary concert etiquette
it's definitely not elementary concert etiquette tho 🤷🏼‍♀️ there's an etiquette in place to prevent harm (ex: no throwing things on stage) and avoid ruining's someone else enjoyment of the concert (ex: hold up your banner at chest level).

I agree. There's a good chance there will be some crazy Kpop stans around you who will think you are disrespecting their group. I don't agree with that point of view but we all know those stans exist.

For me it’s like wearing the football shirt of a different team at another team’s game. I don’t think you should do it.
i didn't see it that way but with the comparison it makes sense

I think idols care especially since they know the design and lighting colors of their sticks.
And if fans turn on another artists', they may seem disrespectful.

Imagine if you planned on going to a dinner with a friend of yours and you decide to bring another person with you. The person you planned the dinner with would definitely feel disrespected and may call you out later on or in that moment, making the whole dinner awkward.

I know what I'm about to say is not the same, but, it reminded me of the whole Girls' Generation's infamous 'Black Ocean incident' in 2008 where GG fans of that SM concert turned off the light sticks for about 10 minutes in protest because they didn't appreciate the group being together with a male group, which I am blanking on its name, making things so awkward for GG.

Right after and even years later, when some GG members appeared in variety shows and the hosts brought that situation up, they explained that it was so awkward and they did feel disrespected.

I know the 'GG 2008 Black Ocean incident' is one more step than turning on another artists' stick, but the result of being disrespected is still the same.

Yes, unless it's like how Vikki described. I especially felt upset when I saw fans bring Wanna One lightsticks to an AB6IX fanmeeting. Jokes on them though, they got escorted out.

it's way more direspectful to completly turn off your lightstick than to have ur light on but it's not the group's lightstick
in events where multiple groups perform like k-con, you might've come to support one artist in particular and brought this artist's lightstick with you but you still support others with your lightstick even if you don't know the group bc black ocean is rlly the worst

woah fanmeeting and concert are different 🛑 if they brought another's group lightstick they were probably here to cause trouble on purpose.

Personally I wouldn't do it unless it's SuperM's case as Vikki said

I would just get a glow stick, I don’t think it’s necessarily disrespectful though.
