Emmanuel Mensah Way in the Bronx, New York is one example. Emmanuel Mensah was a National Guardsman who died trying to save four children from an apartment building fire in December 2017. He was an immigrant from Ghana. When firefighters later entered the building, they discovered Mensah's remains. Based on his body's location, emergency responders determined Mensah died looking for more people to rescue.​
