Not personally but yes. If a person does not control their fever or other symptoms it can go down south. Remember the flu is responsible for ending WWI earlier then it would have been without the flu going around. There also has been many flu outbreaks through out history that took out large swatches of people.

Medicine and vaccines makes the flu less lethal but it can happen

My cousin & grandmother died of the common flu, what kills them is not the flu itself, its them developing pneumonia is what is fatal most of the time.

It can also trigger heart attacks in others. The risk of getting a heart attack after the flu goes up for a few weeks. If your perfectly healthy that that is of no concern. If your older or not that healthy that risk is a problem

Yeah, my grandmother was old & my cousin is disabled since childbirth so she does not have a healthy immune system.

Also there are just so many humans in this world.

I don‘t know anyone personally that died due to the flu but it can happen.

Well there is common cold (which is called flunssa in my country) and that's like mildest version of them all, then there is flu (called influenssa in my country) which can be bit hardcore and swine flu is branch of influenza as well as corona virus. I had quite bad of influenza couple years ago, couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, couldn't function, but then I had mild influenza this winter which was just couple days.

I don't know anyone who has died of influenza or common cold. But in general what can follow them is usually worse than influenza itself, one of them is pneunomia which I had as child and was hospitalized for two weeks. My uncle almost died of pneunomia as well as adult and he wasn't risk group I think.

A common flu may not be something dangerous for a normal and relatively healthy person but for the population with some chronic decease/condition + being under 5 or over 65 years, can be very dangerous, esp. if not treated properly.
