I like the windows open when the temperature and humidity levels aren't bad. My dog (who does NOT pay the electric bill!!!!) would prefer AC only, and is whining loudly from the basement.

It depends, if it's too hot they remain closed to not get the heat inside. Normally they are always open unless it's like mid winter or something but even then the windows are open in the bedrooms for a bit to get fresh air in. In my bedroom my window remains open from around march- april til about late october.

Depends. I’d prefer windows if the weather outside is pleasant, but it’s not very common that it’s the right level of warmth and humidity. So usually it’s AC or nothing

It depends on the outside temperature. I prefer open windows but I also use a mobile AC when it gets too hot in summer, especially at night.

When I lived in an apartment, it just had an in-wall AC, so I had one room that was COLD and the rest were an experience in slowly suffocating.

I live in the south so it's always humid so AC
but if the power goes out, short sleeves and shorts and lay on the floor bc it's usually a storm that knocked it out, therefore it'll be humid outside so no window, but we do have a windowabove our kitchen sink that we did put up when it went out a couple times bc it had a screen and so the air inside could flow

I generally only manage the humidity - I'll open a window the other side of the house, and dehumidify if wet, and evaporative cooler if not.

the AC is a dinosaur that I'm afraid will get annoyed and monch me to bits as soon as it throws a piston in the compressor.

AC during the daytime, open windows at night :P actually, i sleep with the window half-open regardless of the temperature-- the nighttime ambient sound is essential for me to sleep, i find it weirdly distracting if it's dead silent in my room lol

Aircon most the time. The place I'm renting is on a giant property with stables and I don't open the window bc they have big spiders here
