Hi I am an Australian and I don't think my accent is annoying to people personally.
Well I identify as half australian to be completely honest with you.

Still I just wanted to get the downlow of what people on KS think of our accent?

Be honest and pull no punches.

I will be mad if you don't. Ok I won't be but still lol

People always assume we all sound like Paul Hogan or Steve Irwin.
But that is not true. Only the truly boganish sound that way.

And they should all be shipped to an island and nuked imo lol

Nothing worse than a bogan arse Australian...

When our accents really go off. When we start mad swearing like no ones business.
Listening to that at 7am in the morning. It is truly painful....

All accents have those that speak it well, and others that come off too strong etc.

I'm from the UK, so most of the Aussie accents I've heard are those I've heard in movies or on Twitch etc. So I'm not fully aware of how "bad" it can sound in some parts of Australia.

For example, I really love Rose's Aussie accent. It's sweet but also kind of sexy.

Other Aussie accents have made me laugh a lot (in a good way). I watch some GTA RP on Twitch and there are a number of Aussie's on there, with varying Aussie accents.

That is true. But movies exaggerate accents a lot of the time tbh.
Some parts of Australia... I can agree with this.

Like I am from new south wales. And we sound a lot different than someone from say Victoria, or Queensland.
I hope the video I posted made peeps laugh here. Makes me cringe but yeah.

Like saying for example He'd have a bluey with the ol missus bout his shit but then steve o would be hella pissed off
and then I'd be devoed as all hell when he was. Still like the mate though. He and I are doughie most of the time ya know what I mean? lol

I only sound like that when I talk to someone I know or usually my friends here lmao.

I often tease my wife for her Aussie accent.... She isn't Australian though, lol. She's Japanese (born and raised). But she had an Australian English tutor whilst growing up. And as a teenager, she also spent two years living in Melbourne.
And funnily enough, our girls have also developed a slight Aussie accent, whenever they use English.

Most likely too used to hearing it like I am. Neighbours is great man. Loved the bejesus out of that show as a youth!
Bogans are just terrible in any shape or form... :(

I hear it so much living in a small arse rural town as I do.
You can't really not notice it... : /
