Do you sometimes miss old kpop? (1 Viewer)

This might sound a bit hypocritical from someone who had discovered kpop recently (to be clear, I had discovered kpop like 5 years ago but didn´t pay much attention past iKON and SF9 songs that I saved into my playlist. I remember how like 10 years ago PSY was superpopular and everyone was dancing to Gagman style, but that´s it. I came back to kpop in September 2020 knowing just a couple of songs, groups here and there. I had to write that out so that you don´t think I´m being pretentious.

By no means do I want to put down new, young, modern groups (that would be just dumb because I love many recent groups like Ateez, Stray Kids, Oneus ,Onewe, Pentaagon, Seventeen etc.), BUT back to my point. Despite kpop getting better and better, richer and richer (high-quality MVs), really talented people all around, gorgeous talented young people ..... have you noticed that they are not as fun as before?

Nowadays you don´t have anyone running after a rooster with a pan. No one being dumb in their clips. Everything is stylish, sweet, perfect, artistic and it´s great! but I just miss the fun and the laughs! Maybe it´s because I´m one of THAT weird generation, but I do miss the weirdness. I suppose that is why I more and more find myself within the old groups, giggling for no reason.

I can't say I miss old kpop specifically but the direction nowadays isn't one I am particularly interested in however it's what the market wants so I just have to go with it

I miss it to an extent but instead of wanting to just go back in time i feel like the new groups should take up crazy concepts and revive that style bc Im very fond of it. I see MCND as an example of that kind of early to mid 2010s flair

I mean there are a lot of good groups around, but where is the soul? I just miss when they were a bit more fun, amateurish. I feel like they are trying a bit too hard or maybe it´s just me :D.

oh, absolutely I definitely don´t need any "turn back time" after all, I can just go and listen to old songs, it´s no biggie :D. but yeah I wish them to relax a little bit. just have fun and be happy ♥
