Like are Ivy Leagues/high rated institutions worth it? Or does a degree from any institution count as a big accomplishment no matter where it’s from?​

I think in the beginning it came name a difference but as you gain work experience it matters less and less.

As someone who graduated from an Ivy, I don't think so. People do treat me different when they find out.

I do think so, not even necessarily from a standpoint of reflecting on intelligence or such but it feels like it’s relatively common for people who graduate from a university and then be able to network with jobs that have other alumni from the university or gain access to alumni that can help put a good word in or that type of stuff.

I can somewhat relate to this. I got the internship I did and it helped when just a few days prior I talked with a girl who happened to do hers at the same place.

Yes well here in my native place it does matter where you got your degree from if it's a well known institution or not

I don’t think it’s really that important here where you studied, I honestly don't even know what the top universities are

depends heavily on the major and how active you are with gaining connections
I know a guy who worked in big tech who said that the unofficial hiring rule was to only look at t20 graduates, another guy whose economics professor liked him so much he managed to get a phd position at stanford right after undergrad
that being said t20 =/= the best, and there are absolutely hidden champion institutions who have goated programs in their specific niches
especially at an undergraduate level, often the cost of a bachelors degree isn’t worth it if you plan on getting a masters anyways
