I will first say my probably controversy statement:

No.. He just a dancer who popularity pushed him into more lines
his skill level pushes him into the worst rapper in nct tbh
dancing wise he is amazing but rapping meh
Like i love Johnny and honestly think he is a key member of NCT
but i personally would class him as a dancer over a rapper
[or even make a new position: translator of English]
cause i honestly think if he wasn't American he wouldn't of debuted tbh
[[please note he is in my top bias's for nct so stans please dont be too sad]]

xD the other thread i made is alot meaner to him shocked on difference

other people saying no
as he basically a dancer and pushed as a dancer all from the start
and he was apparently meant to be a sub vocalist
[[his trainee time being 10 years]
and that his skills are really bad compared to sungchan who just debutted

I mean his dancing is really damn good, his rap is passable, he has visuals and is the strongest variety member of the group.
Also the 10 years is kinda misleading, bcs a good few years of that wasn't full time and he was only flying over to korea for breaks.

I think he is good enough to be called a rapper in the group, even if he is the weakest of the rappers.
Bcs there are members in the group who have rapped, but aren't rappers per say, if you get what I mean.

Variety skill is a valuable skill and one very much needed for idols.
I don't think you can get into an SM group through just luck. SM isn't going to just throw in a member bcs why tf not!

Johnny keeps up with the group with dance and rap, he doesn't stand out negatively in any way and on top of that he stands out with variety skills.

I think that in a regular SM group he would be like the media personality of the group but SM doesn't really send NCT on TV shows...
