Do you think that horror movies are actually scary? (1 Viewer)

Most of them are not, but I built up my resistance to them because I recently got into horror a lot. Asian horror movies are another story to American ones tho

I have only seen Grunge and Dark Water as both their Asian and American versions and I think the Asian one are just more atmospheric, but not really scary? the American ones are more jumpy and all. though Dark Water was just really sad :/. I can´t compare the others.
I do like a good horror movie, no matter the country, but I can´t stand gore so finding something ghost-like, scary and not cliché is really hard :D

Most of them are just disgusting, based on body horror and jump scares, which is why I don't like them.

I dont like to watch horror movies. But i dont consider Resident Evil or Land of the Dead too horror-fic/scary so iv watched those b4. Also sometimes i watched Saturday late night movies on tv tat turned out to be somewat horror-fying but not too scary to me. I guess i avoid horror/scary when i can but since idk when its too scary for me, iv watched unknowingly/without choosing to turn it off. The one when when i was a kid turned me off scary shows, tho it wasnt horror-it was twilight zone i think but im not gonna chk.

Nah. One of my fave hobbies is to watch horror movies....not because they're good, but because they're fun. Since the pandemic began last year, I'm sure I've seen just about every horror movie on Amazon Prime. Netflix, not so much because if the B-movies on AP are bad, Netflix horror movies are trash buried under trash buried under more trash lol.

There may be a scene or two that I wouldn't want to go to sleep on (as in, not having that be the last thing on my mind), but nothing that'll have me turning it off and sleeping with the lights on.

ETA: I love Asian horror movies! Netflix has some interesting Thai ones.

Asian horror movies are far more interesting to me for sure, I think their idea of scary is a lot scarier to me

Nah, most of the time the only thing scary about horror movies are the loud noises when a supposed jumpscare happens, u literally only jump from the sudden loud noise q.q

And just rarely horror movies are able to pull off the atmosphere a horror movie needs

No, American ones aren't, I have a love of slasher movies though but I don't find the scary.
Asian horror is better is such better..but I'm. Not really scared by them either but I enjoy them alot more
