I came across something online (either Twitter or Reddit, I don't remember) and it was mentioned that music shows should be stopped during the pandemic, or something along the lines of that. It made me wonder if halting music shows would be a good thing or not. Obviously a lot of thought would need to be put into this. Music shows are ways for fans to watch live stages of their faves and even discover more unknown artists, etc.

I'm a bit conflicted about it. We've already had a few idols test positive for the virus and obviously no one wants the virus to keep spreading, especially to other idols. Of course we'd want everyone to be as safe as possible, but I feel like a lot of fans would hate not being able to see the lives stages of theirs faves comebacks and whatnot.

What do you think?

I would feel bad for rookie groups who actually get a lot of spotlight on these shows but if it gets any worse then yeah i would have to agree with shutting them down temporarily.

i know that not every group can afford it but maybe they can have like stages on their own sets and send those out for performances, considering how much money some of these companies put towards inkigayo stages but even then it would be hard to do it every week.

it really depends on whether or not the virus gets any worse, if the recent amount of coronavirus cases are seriously because of a flook incident then they shouldn't cancel, but if it gets worse then cancelling it would be the best idea.

i think it would be a good idea to halt music show promotions for the idols' health. i know it might hurt rookie groups' popularity, but at the same time, the pandemic is very serious. just my opinion :sanapray:

I personally think they should halt them for now because the last thing I want to see is all of the idols and staff getting sick. As a fan even though I would love to see performances of my groups live and I feel sorry to rookies that had to debut during this awful year, I feel like it's not worth it.

I just wanted to post a comment tat i loved tat ur listening to Girls' Generation "Girls are Back", yeongwonhee sonyeoshidae.

But ill also post abt this thread so im not spamming.
Its not just music shows tho, i just read tat a play "L'Étudiante et M. Henri" (The Student and Mister Henri) or another title i read is (Grandpa Henry and Me) has shut down for 2 weeks as one of the actresses came into contact with a person who tested positive for it.

According to the tweet, i rmbrd wrongly, it was staff at her agency who tested positive. So the play hasnt got any direct cases who r positive, yet.

Its the risk they hv to evaluate themselves as the audience for a play is more than the empty audience at music shows. The idols themselves are interacting n hanging out with their friends during a pandemic. I do think the rookies n idols who arent interacting widely n are isolating shdnt be penalised or risked tho.

If they could just dont risk others by behaving appropriately, i think music shows; year end shows n awards shows could n shd go on, accordingly if the idols agree but i think every one is getting complacent after so long n the news of a possible vaccine may hv upped the risky behaviour of ppl who think they r invulnerable n dont think they will get infected/suffer any consequences if they get covid-19.

I dont think its my right to decide (tho i will give my observation tat i think they either shouldnt, or hv more preventive measures in place) if music shows, awards shows or year end shows in korea shd happen tho. Its up to the ones who put themselves at risk/evaluate for themselves the risk vs potential downside who hv to make tat decision for themselves n live thru the consequences.

If they don't shut them down they should only allow the least amount of people needed to attend, besides the idols & their managers + stylists ofcourse, which I think they already do kind of?
Obviously don't allow any real life crowds etc. to attend as well.

If they do end up shutting them down, while it would probably be hurtful to other smaller groups, they should do it long term and not on/off.

I'm not sure, there don't seem to be a crazy amount of cases yet. If it gets worse definitely but so far it seems to be not that bad yet.
