i can't live without em, most for youtube as well. uBlock Origin is SUCH a good ad blocker, i haven't seen an ad in ages; sponsorblock is so helpful to skip over long unnecessary intros and sponsored products in videos, i really recommend it

video maximizer + open as pop up are such a good duo. i can't live without subtitles, but youtube's popup tab function doesn't show the subtitles there so combining these is such a good option! i use windows powertoys to make the tab stay on top of any other apps i open, so i can see the video if im playing a game or texting
as you may see i really like extensions.... these r just a few

It seems that YouTube tries to render any existing ad blocker useless in the future, so they can sell more people their ad-free premium accounts. Google bought YouTube in 2006, it's pretty clear why the currently best ad blocker will not work in Chrome anymore.

There is 'uBlock Origin light' for Chrome, I'd bet that it doesn't block YouTube ads. But I'm not sure, I didn't test the uBlock Origin light version for Mozilla browsers (it's called uBO Lite) because I have a YouTube Premium account.

it depends! there's extensions that help to be more practical and extensions for customization
for example:
if you'd like to make your Youtube prettier, you can use Stylish. if you want to make your Youtube easier to watch and navigate, you could look for extensions like mine
there's also just funny ones, i had one where it added MrBeast's face into youtube thumbnails and i had it at 1% so i could be surprised when he pops up

The ad-blocker programmers will react - I'm pretty sure YouTube will not win this war long-term.
