Does anyone use BlueSky? Is it worth it? (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking of creating an account just to talk about K-pop and maybbeeeeeeee upload English interpretations. I wanna know how the community is, it seems smaller but that works in my favour since I'm scared of twitter lol. Anything I should know?

Right now, it's fine. A lot of the "big" kpop twitter accounts haven't migrated over yet, which is annoying, but I refuse to support that site anymore. I figure, the more people who move over and who start using the site, the more incentivized the big fandom accounts will be to move off twitter.

I will say, it's much less hateful, and that immediately makes it a plus. It's nice to read the comments on something and not have them be full of unhinged bile.

Yeah, it's nice for me to go "oh, this seems interesting, I wonder what other people think" and have there be sane commentary. I don't get how some people have fun wading through people just screaming at each other.

Ngl I don’t know Blue Sky but I feel like if the big Twitter accounts move over, so will the people screaming at each other. I really doubt you can have both popularity and more reasonable/calmer discussions

I wouldn't know for sure, because I don't post unhinged things, but apparently bsky is way more ruthless with enforcing their code of conduct than twitter has been lately.

(Personally, I just want the major charts/stats ones to move over. They've even reserved accounts for themselves, so IDK why they won't use them.)

I wouldn’t be that surprised, I just feel like bigger platforms usually tend to be more rowdy and full of trolls, and as a result the moderation also changes to be more lax as a result. But it is still dependent on the staff and target audience and such, so BlueSky could possibly stay that way even with popularity, I just tend to assume that if somewhere gets very popular online it’ll have big problems with trolls.
