Like for example if I went into the “Miyeon looks great in pink hair” and went all “Kijyun looks great in pink hair, look” would you consider that annoying? Personally I think it is a bit of a who asked vibe, but I wouldn’t get super mad or offended by it, I’d ignore it and move on.

I’m gonna take the other side of the coin where its an unrelated group but for problematic reasons. Like if someone said “___ did this, they should be cancelled” and then someone else goes “but ___ also did the same thing and it was fine”

Which reminds me of people bringing up unrelated groups for the purpose of making their favs looks less bad by gaining sympathy. Seen it happen, still mad about that

I don't think so. I mean, if someone were to not even mention the original idol, and instead said "look at X idol" then I get it. However, if they're saying something more along the lines of "i agree, check out idol Y with [insert characteristic] too" then I can see the connection.

I’d say I don’t get annoyed or anything but if I make a thread about a specific idol/group and someone else brings up another idol/group that’s not really related then I just kind of feel disappointed maybe? Idk how to explain but I wouldn’t say I get upset.

Like When I post threads gushing about how beautiful Yunho’s or Suga’s smiles are I want everyone else to do the same because their smiles are the best and nobody else’s

Specific threads are meant for One topic, so why bring up Anything unrelated?
It doesn't matter if there's a "technical or partial connection" as far as context, the person still chose to detour a bit and not completely stay on topic of the discussion.

But, that's just my opinion.

Personally, it would annoy me too. Let's appreciate the idol who the thread was dedicated for. Also, it makes it seem like they're comparing in a sense of, "Oh look, but this idol looks even better." Kinda vibes. Ya know what I mean?

yeah it is kinda annoying. like, if we go with the example in the op, the thread is meant to be a miyeon appreciation thread, which means that it's appreciating how good miyeon looks with pink hair. to say something like "oh, xyz looks great with pink hair too!" is irrelevant, unnecessary, and annoying. quite rude too. you can make your own thread, or reply one titled "talk about your favourite idols in pink hair" or smth

tbh yea i have to suppress the urge to roll my eyes, especially if they compare their own fave to mine or use my thread to promote their bias. like, this is a dokyeom/svt only zone pls make your own thread
if you really want to insert your fave you could at least comment on what i posted before making the jump to your fave, if that makes sense. "dokyeom looks pretty!! i really like pink hair, it looks so nice on XYZ too"

If the tone is showing appreciation for a specific artist then yeah just bringing up another artist is a little strange but what Winter mentioned about the whataboutism in Kpop that brings up a list of people who have come under the same accusation is what really annoys me as it only serves to further drag artists who likely already got dragged.
