Not even sure it applies to the reasoning behind the bill but colleges are starting to add inclusive requirements such as women's studies, classes on gender, sexual orientation, etc to graduation requirements. The college I went to required the "overall" theme off ALL English courses to be "gender acceptance". I'm not against these classes but I don't think they have any right to require them. I had to take 4 English classes, so I had this violently shoved down my throat for 2 years. If I'm an engineer, mathematician, marine biologist, etc making students take these courses is a waste of time energy and effort and actually harms acceptance. I made sure to make all my professors classes a living hell with my unpopular opinions. When they complained about my militant views I explained if they had the right to shove these views down my throat then I had the right to shove my views down their throat. What really drove them insane is that I wasn't against a lot of what they were advocating but using an unrelated subject for propaganda is what made me mad. And if they REALLY didn't' like it they could tell the college how inappropriate it was to force these kind of views on their students in an English class for an entire semester. Rest assured I gave a lot of the administration headaches complaining about it. I'm not at against inclusivity, I'm against the requirement that you study it. Literally half of graduation requirements these days have nothing to do with the actual degree. I was becoming a machinist and drafts person, WTF do I need a class on Art Appreciation. WTF do I need Mexican American history!? Why the hell do I HAVE to learn about Mexican American history when there's an entire fucking world to learn about (I'm not against the class, just it's specific requirement when there's other history I could learn). If it's banning an entire degree path I'm really against that and I agree, that's censorship.
