in argentina it's actually really common and it's incredibly hyped, being a Promo (graduating class) is really looked up to! we spend millions of pesos (aka thousands of dollars for you guys 😭🙏) on just last year celebrations and it's a very well known tradition. we have a lot of different days made just for partying, like the most traditional one UPD (último primer día) meaning last first day and UUD (último último día) last last day of school
for UPD there's this tradition of making Remerones or Chombas: a remerón is like a loose, oversized t-shirt, while a chomba is just a normal button collared shirt. remerones and chombas are usually cut out into dresses or short cropped tops and decorated with text (aka 'frases para el remerón', meaning phrases for our upd tshirt), glitter, glow in the dark paint/tape, charms, etc.
we also make signs with puns and jokes, often suggestive, referencing shows and songs or just referencing the Promo itself!
it's actually a really fun activity

This was probably something more specific to what my school district did for the graduating classes for Grammar School and High School.

We of course had prom, senior retreat, our annual ski trip to Austria and had our senior trip to Spain for 10 days.

oh absolutely not, we just finished school earlier than the younger kids (in april and not in june) and then had exams and due to covid our class didn't have prom or anything, but it's not like i would have gone anyway because it would just be some tacky decor in a small room with polish hip hop blasting through speakers for a few hours. we didn't even have yearbook photos or anything you see in american pop culture, just one day you're a high school student and the other you're not. maybe schools in bigger cities have some expensive celebrations but in my case everyone was more focused on passing the exams more than anything.
