DISCLAIMER: Sexual exploitation of children, grooming, online sexual harassment is implied. It's in your best interest to skip on look at some of my other threads if these themes trigger or upset you
Goddamnit if no one else will say it I will
I'll tell you future Gen Z mothers right now that giving your kid too much internet time while you're not monitoring them especially if they're young will probably result in horrible people exlpoiting them. How do I know this?
Because I was that kid, dipshit. I was raised on the internet in my prepubescent years which was the worst damn thing to happen to me besides almost drowning every time I went swimming. I came across very disgusting people who did things at a time when I was too young to even know what was going on. For the next few years, I started overly sexualizing myself and eventually developed what's most referred to as hypersexuality due to this. I was even almost lured into sex work at one time. Keep in mind here I was barely 10. And go ahead and say I brought it upon myself because I was groomed into thinking this behavior was normal and that I was supposed to be like this. That wasn't the case but there was no one there stopping me or better yet pulling the computer away from the hands of 4th grade me. And the ones who should have weren't even active enough in my life to know this was going on. I'm not saying my mother was absent, not at all. But I can't say we spent a lot of time together. So it was easy for me to just go online and seek out that comfort and feeling of being loved from a random ass 40 yo white man on the internet. I probably shouldn't have had my computer as much as I did because from age 9-12, bad things just kept happening. And this was around the first little wave of the pandemic so I had nothing to do but use my computer. And all these people had succumed me into their bubble so much that despite the fact I was groomed I convinced myself that it wasn't the case, that I wasn't a victim of anything, that I was just a disgusting slut. Now I'm 14 in my 1st year of high school and I have to tell this story all over again when I tell my peers that I'm deeply afraid of men. So believe me when I say, it would hurt to wait a year to give your kid a phone
