Don't you find it weird... (1 Viewer)

When there is a certain comeback and people are automatically going 'SOTY!!!', even when the year hasn't even finished?

I've even heard people say 'This is SOTY' on the first day of the year, like, really?

I think people should wait until the end of the year to claim that a song is 'SOTY' lol

[Suzy]

I do that

Well technically when a new song is released and it's so good that it's better than everything else released up until that point, you also assume that it would be hard to release something better than it. Obviously a lot of fans exaggerate when they say it but it's not anything serious or anything to get mad over. I have like 5 SOTY so far lol. And the chances of them still being in my fave list by the end of the year are pretty high.

[Evergreen]

It’s the just a way for fans to say that they love a song. It’s not that serious.

lets take you back to 8th grade English class where we learn about hyperbole

[Wingfrost]

Answer was released on January 6 and I said it’s soty. I still think it is lol.

idc

HOW YOU LIKE THAT SOTY!

[Darkseid]

It's hyperbole and fun, don't analyze

[eclipsoul]

it makes more sense to wait until the end of the year but even that is not going to stop me from calling pporappippam SOTY every chance that i get

[dooh]

i am even worse, calling teasers already soty

[Willow]

i am even worse, calling teasers already soty

[yeji]
