Worked all weekend to meet a request to put together test documentation (even though it's pointless, because the setting cannot be tested in a test environment), just for the the requestor to refuse to sign off on it this morning because they don't like that the test documentation says it's a test document, because the setting cannot be tested. AS I ALREADY TOLD THEM FRIDAY.

See if I rush shit for you again.


It's funny to be on this end of things, because I'm personally 100x nicer to people who can deprioritize things I need. I try to never piss off the people who can go "well, you're 30th in line, I'll let you know when I get to it." Am I the only petty one?

I swear, some people deliberately go out of their way to be stupid. The requestor is now willing to review my test documentation, and is doing nonsense like taking half a screenshot of the page and going "I don't see the change." That's because it's on the second half of the page, conveniently highlighted for your review!! Why are you choosing to be blind???

Okay, now I'll take a deep breath and remind myself that she's the one who will have to explain why she didn't approve things in time for it to meet the project timelines, so it's really her problem and not mine.

It varies what people call them, so I tried to pick a neutral enough word, lol. But yes! I realized that I'd be less pissy this morning with them being inane if I hadn't worked all weekend to try to accommodate them, so I think next time I get a request 10 minutes before my shift ends on Friday, my response will be a "I'll look at this on Monday." I know my capacity to tolerate them would be higher if I'd had a true break this weekend.

Yep that's the way to go. Some people just request things too late and they're gonna have to deal with waiting, just like everyone else
