For me, Dreamcatcher released the best music out of all the girl groups this year.
Dystopia : The tree of language was a fantastic first full album but Dystopia : Lose myself didn’t disappoint either.
The intro is delightful. Dreamcatcher always serve the best introductions. It’s an instrumental as usual and Dreamcatcher´s instrumentals are the only ones that I always listen. I keep replaying Boca instrumental right now.
Boca is a top tier title track. Siyeon vocals are wonderful and enchanting. The rap duo Gahyeon/Dami delivery is impressive. Boca realize an amazing feat : conciliating a summerish vibe with Dreamcatcher unique sound.
Break the wall is for me the best song of the album, the quintessence of Dreamcatcher signature. It’s an epic rock song which gives me a strong 2000s rock-metal vibe. The vocals sound grungy/gritty and vulnerable at the same time.
EDM is not Dreamcatcher main genre but they do it like no one else. The mesmerizing Can’t get out of my mind is here to remind us of that. It’s a full English song and a lesson. The lyrics are wonderful and far from cringe. The rest of the industry should take note. Break the wall and Can’t get you out of my mind form a nostalgic time travel in the 2000s.
Dear is here to counterbalance all the others tracks energy. It’s chill and beautiful. Dreamcatcher ballads are always good and Dear is no exception.
