I only feel bad for Chaekyung and Rachel who joined the group later and have to suffer now. As for DSP, slapping a lawsuit already seemed ridiculous and it's good to see it get rejected for now although I'm sure they'll do something again.

The acquaintances in this case would be Hyunjoo's brother who first made the initial bullying claims from other April members and one of Hyunjoo's former classmates.

The actual legal dispute is still pending so let's see.

Depending on how DSP filed the case affects what this means exactly as if they filed the case against the brother and alleged friend all at once then if DSP wanted they could just file the cases separately and that could lead the cases to potentially go further.

I think i will nvr understand SK defamation laws, n the netizens who thoroughly explained earlier how defamation laws in SK work. Who do i trust to explain it, the police who rejected this lawsuit; or the netizens who said you could be sued for saying defamatory but still true things abt a person? Obviously not tat simple.

Also altho the lawsuit against the brother n acquaintance are thrown out, it seems DSP want to find out who told them the details they posted n plan to sue tat person. Such a mess.

Court cases are very particular things and you tend to have to do things a certain way and with no mention in the article of exactly why it was thrown out it could be to do with the subject itself or thr overall handling of the subject with multiple possibilities for each side.

The thing with the defamation law in Korea based on what I've seen though is that it goes on the basis that if you released the information with malicious intent then even if it's true it could count as defamation.

The explanation i read which im not gonna link is tat the police found no case for the defamation suit. Which DSP is appealing the decision, n the appeal seems to be based on tat the brother m acquantance are third party to another person who informed them.(Presumably only Hyunjoo herself had this information).

So hv to wait n see wat happens next in the appeal. Also DSP vs Hyunjoo case is still pending, i think. Still a mess all round.
