Electronic Arts Removes Multiplayer Mode From Dragon Age Game in Big Pivot
Video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc. has made a major pivot on the next game in the popular Dragon Age series, allowing the developers to remove all planned multiplayer components from the game, according to people familiar with the matter.
I thought I'd never read EA and removing multiplayer in one sentence!
Some days ago they announced that they'll drop their "No Mans Sky" rework on Anthem: Next and pretty much shut down that project completely.
30 people were moved to Dragon Age 4. Which EA has finally decided, after seeing how big of a flop Anthem was that Dragon Age should stay a single player game as it has been the last 3 games. It's really funny tho that Mass Effect Andromeda was left in the dirt for Anthem and now Anthem got left in the dirt.
Mass Effect Andromeda could've been great if half their workforce wasn't put to Anthem.
Now I'm just especially happy about these news since Dragon Age is one of my favorite gaming universes and it's deserves much better treatment, being one of four founding games of Bioware that really pushed them to popularity.
It's also pretty much this: If they fail to deliver with Dragon Age 4 & Mass Effect 4 Bioware will cease to exist, they'll be just another dead studio under EA so they really have to nail this!
It has to be at least a good game, not average, not decent but good if not even perfect.
Now that their management changed and the people in charge left who put their teams through crunch etc. I really hope it'll be better.
Idk who else to tag but
