the worldwide renowned music critic aka me is here to share her favourite title tracks (and two bsides with mvs lmao) of the year! my taste this year has gone through some serious changes that i'm more and less proud of but anyway somehow i came to a conclusion that 2021 was a really good year for kpop if you forgot the fact that the group who was #1 on my last year's list has disbanded. i included songs in every language by a kpop artist/group. making it nearly killed my laptop somehow so pls appreciate it

ENHYPEN - Drunk-Dazed


my knowledge about enhypen is like 100 times smaller than my knowledge about my neighbours' personal lives which means nearly nonexistent but this is one of the most addictive songs i have ever heard. i wish i could feel the same way 24/7 as i did when that chorus came on for the first time.

SEVENTEEN - Rock With You


i love everything about this song, but if i'm being 100% honest it's dk's vocals in the bridge and first prechorus that singehandedly made it land in my top 10. enough said.

LOONA - Paint The Town


when bbc came out with that description of a bollywood inspired hip hop dance song i was - to say the least - terrified of the outcome but this was a pleasant surprise. also i don't know what the hell we ain't gotta east of eden so keep it or we're devilous means but it speaks to me on a personal level since if there is anything user eclipsoul is gonna do it's listening to a song in any language mentioning astronomical bodies without making sense.

WJSN - Unnatural


wjsn truly owned this year for me. this song had all the PAKs, #1 and went platinum in my youtube history. due to my obsession with something else i forgot about many songs that were released between march and april but unnatural is not one of them.

ONEUS - Luna


easily my favourite boy group song of the year and close to becoming one of my all-time favourites as well. it's just THAT good, i could listen to it for hours and still want to keep listening. the chorus is a masterpiece of its own. also my favourite music video of the year, holy sh*t it's awesome

Youha - Abittipsy


as a huge retro concept enthusiast, this song was meant to be high on my year-end list the moment it came out. it's so underrated and so is youha's music in general so pls listen to it if you haven't yet! also as someone who doesn't drink, drinking has become a recurring theme in my fave songs this year as seen in this and one song in top 3 lol

LOONA - Hula Hoop


HULALALA HULALALA HULALA HULA HOOP once loona releases a korean title track like this one (and i feel it inside of myself that it's coming!!) i will never shut up about it. it's a perfect song.

Brave Girls - After We Ride


say whatever you want about 2021, the whole chart rise brave girls have experienced is one of the best things in kpop history and every song they released this year just proves how much they deserve all the recognition they deserve. this song is so good it gets me singing along in my head about drinking habits when i literally don't have any! who is doing it like them?

and since i'd rather put up posters of jyp in plastic trousers all over my room than choose between these two songs left i have a tie for #1.

i was going to write something but actually there aren't any words in my english vocabulary that could describe the love and appreciation i have for this song. i'm just so happy i know it exists. SOTY

WJSN The Black - Easy


everyone that's interacted with me during the time when it came out probably has been more than aware of my wjsn the black obsession and that isn't ending anytime soon! most powerful subunit in kpop. easy era seola will go down in history books and i can say i was here to witness that.

i cant honestly say i know a lot of these songs, i havent listened to kpop much this year but i'll give them a listen for sure

yeah i've listened to it a few times but never paid as much attention as i should have omg

i feel you, i like to think i keep up with kpop well enough but i couldn't make this list from memory and had to look up a few "kpop 2021" playlists
