it's really popular in asia, I know it's one of the staples for emk and the chinese fans have an honestly impressive amount of todolf fanfiction, the actors at the shanghai tour got a little culture shock at the fanart lmaoo
the takrazuka premiere was the third country production (in 96 after the austrian and hunagarian premieres) and the actress who originated the japanese tod went on to be the first toho elisabeth, elisabeth productions are still considered top resources in the field
this production I think is especially funny because toho elisabeths are basically monopolized by tkz alumnis, with asumi rio having played tod before in 2014 (nozomi futo was lucheni)
so of the 5 main cast members, 4 of them have stage experience as der tod and the last one has performing experience singing der tod's parts in concerts and other galas
