I think Belgium needs to change tactics and push themselves on social media.
One thing I can say is that they always keep to themselves whilst the others are pushing out content.

they were like top 5 to win i think, so their NQ is definitely a shocker... i love ziferblat but as the last qualifier was to be announced i had almost lost all hopes for them because i was almost certain belgium was taking it

televoting is rough man, I was up by the time they were announcing the results so I was hoping my breath for ukraine to get through, selfishly I'm happy to go to uni happily lmao.
I'm curious in what place belguim got overall now, I'll wait til Sunday

oh boy this was A LOT. i wish i had found this thread earlier but at least i'll get to yap here on thursday given i have more faves there than in this sf. some of my thoughts:

• i wasn't the biggest fan of that portugal song but this performance has surprisingly resonated with me because idk i like it when guys just stand here and sing
• croatia was DOOMED when i saw these capcut effects poland was famously known for. marko sweetie i'm so sorry i'll still stream moli za nas <3
• beatrice from shkodra elektronike is one of the most gorgeous human beings i have ever laid my eyes on - not that it has anything to do with the result but i just had to get it out there
• i'm so so proud of poland!! the performance might have been a hot MESS to some but if we didn't Q with gaja when we did with solo you'd see me on the news
• the only 100% english qualifying song is norway, which left me thinking czechia is probably cooked on thursday. but luckily i have matured and grown enough to think that it's just a silly little contest where the results don't matter. if europe doesn't appreciate the slovak icon who has taken over my life these past two months - too bad! means more for me

• i had a feeling cyprus would NQ the minute the guy opened his mouth - like there was no substance to that song. hell, it wasn't even catchy - the moment he started singing the huuuush huuuush line, a random 40 year old song with similar lyric started playing in my head instead of actually focusing on what's being performed in front of me
• ....but belgium??? that wasn't a shock NQ that was an earthquake NQ. the staging was great, the guy's vocals seemed decent... what went wrong? i guess we'll have to wait until sunday

Watched the performances. I’m generally happy with the ones who qualified, though I find Norway to be pretty boring.

what are your predictions for SF2? in general i want to have this idgaf attitude but at the same time i am spending the entire day making peace with the fact that i won't get to see my dear adonxs at the saturday night final... and let me tell you guys, it's hard out there

well at least it makes my toilet breaks safe because there wouldn't be a chance for him to perform after that damn coffee song

so what i think will happen:

• that english songs NQ-ing curse won't strike again as anglophone countries are all voting in sf2 and also the songs are much stronger - like there's no language in the world that would make that azerbaijan song a contender for the final or that would fix the cypriot guy's vocals
• this is delulusoul talking BUT!! given the fact that belgium and cyprus NQ-ed with those great stagings, not all hope is lost for the "emptier" stagings like czechia or greece. if you have a charismatic talented performer (and czechia sure does) then you simply don't have to do all that
• if there's a shock NQ on the level of belgium i'm gonna go ahead and say it's malta. the lyrical pun is lost now that she can't say kant, their televoting record these past few years is abysmal and this song seems more accessible to the fanbase than to the casuals.
• not a prediction but eurovision gods i am BEGGING you to let czechia qualify so i don't experience the worst crash out known to mankind
• #that country will probably be announced as the first one to get shit over with
• delulusoul talking again but if there is going to be a belgium-cyprus situation then it can only happen to luxembourg-ireland because of their similar audience. strobe lights and shh probably canceled each other out, while the other songs people claim to be shock NQs like lithuania or my beloved czechia don't really have competiton genre-wise

oh ABSOLUTELY. my #1 worry is being all-televote semi bc czechia can't rely on diaspora or allies.... juries would eat it up (as they should)

i've never been this attached to a eurovision song before like it's so so good, his voice is amazing and from the random interviews i watch he seems like such a sweet and lovely human being literal tears in my eyes as i type this....
