I’m finally able to watch so I am going to be posting my thoughts as I watch
I always love the flag parade, it’s so fun seeing the artists be so proud of the country’s they’re representing!
Norway: Gahhh he’s so good! What a way to start a show!! I don’t care what anyone says, his dance break is so cool. I am so proud of this kid!
Luxembourg: She was really stable when being lifted up from the ground - I am impressed. Mid song she sounded a bit out of breath but honestly I would just chalk it up to nerves. She honestly did so well regardless. I loved her outfit change. That high note was fantastic too!
Estonia: His voice is a little less off-tune than it was in the semi-finals but he could still improve. I can’t lie - the song is catchy though.
Israel: My views aside (I don’t think they should even be participating)…. She felt more flat vocally than the semis. I still think the staging is really pretty but that’s probably the only nice thing I can say. I think her voice even lowkey cracked a bit.
Lithuania: Everytime I hear this song I reminded of how absolutely boring this is. I would take a nap during this but actually wanted to give it a fair chance. I will admit he was stable. I will not go out of my way to listen to this again honestly.
Spain: This song truly grows on me everytime. Melody is a queen, we stan!! She can sing, its fun, what more do people want? The choreography is so cool too!
Ukraine: This gives me such a vintage and nostalgic vibe, I love it! His pink outfit will forever be my favourite stage outfit of this year. He sounds basically like the studio version most of the time which I appreciate. I feel like people really underestimated or didn’t understand the vision but I definitely do.
United Kingdom: They give me such princess vibes, the dresses are so elegant. They are definitely serving vocals too. The song has begun to grow on me too. I was meh about the studio version but the live versions elevated it.
Austria: Am I the only person who finds the opera-like parts really annoying? If the whole song was like the verses, I would enjoy it more. I just feel like it’s an octave too high for my liking.
Iceland: In my top three so obviously I am biased but man they are amazing. This is the perfect mix of fun and good vocals. I’m so proud of them - they truly gave it their all! I will definitely be listening to this well after the show ends.
Latvia: I don’t know if this is intentional but the song is almost hypnotic. I feel very intrigued the entire time. They harmonize really well together. I appreciate how consistent they are between the semis and now.
Netherlands: I love how his voice can go from soft and emotional to a growl. It’s fascinating. Claude is a great artist, I liked his music before he was introduced as a performer this year. The way he started crying at the end had me in tears.
Finland: She is such a performer, she knows how to use the stage! This was seriously such an iconic performance. She can sing, she’s fun. It may be a little risky but whatever, I am enjoying her performance.
Italy: It’s not the type of song I would normally gravitate towards but I will dmit it has slowly started to grow on me. I like him playing the piano while sibging, it’s kinda relaxing in a sense. The harmonica part is pretty cool too.
Poland: She radiates everytime she steps on stage! I don’t know how she can hit this notes especially while dancing. This is a whole theatrical masterpiece. She slightly struggled to let go from being propelled in the air but honestly I barely noticed.
Germany: The “la la la” part is a little annoying but less annoying live than the studio version. I like the big stereo prop and the rest of the song is fine.
Greece: She is such a queen and an absolute powerhouse vocal! She has range! And this song gets me feeling emotional. One simple stage prop but so effective. She is a storyteller and I love that in an artist.
Armenia: It does not seem easy to sing and run on a treadmill - if I tried that I would be so out of breath. Not sure if this is the best pick for the Eurovision stage but definitely reminiscent of songs I would listen to as a teenager so it does feel kinda nostalgic.
Switzerland: Did they send the most boring possible option because they didn’t want to host two years in a row? It definitely felt like it. If you haven’t noticed, ballad aren’t my thing. But I will admit, she can sing well. I just wish it had’ve been a less boring song.
Malta: Thank you for entertaining me!! I’m still mad about the EBU sensoring her and not allowing to use of the word Kant. Malta chose someone who can sing and can entertain and that is great for them. I love the stage props and use of space. I love how she remains stable in her vicals even when bouncing on those big red balls.
Portugal: I guess it’s time for another nap. It’s honestly the most boring entry this year. I will compliment his ability to multitask as he is songing and playing the guitar at the same time.
Denmark: The only thing I can complain about is the awful fluffy thibg she is wearing at the beginning. Other than that, the other outfit is stunning, she sings good, and she definitely already defied expectations. She hits some impressively long notes too.
Sweden: I find it funny that the one guy was roasting a ridiculously large hot dog at the beginning. This song is catchy and continues to be stuck in my head. I don’t know wgat this song is laced with but I approve of it’s catchiness.
France: I am just thinking about her finding sand everywhere for the next few weeks. The song is not my cup of tea but I can appreciate it. She does appear to connect deeply with the lyrics and conveys deep emotions.
San Marino: I can admit this is pretty fun. I am curious to know why the other two guys are masked. I could not figure out why he looked so familiar but learned he was a part of creating the im blue da ba dee da ba die song
Albania: I feel like I am missing part of the storyline because I don’t understand why the man just stands there. It’s also slowly growing on me, still not something I would go out of my way to listen to but would not be mad if it came up on shuffle.
