Up & Down has won the EXID vs AOA Tournament!

Up & Down had a fairly dominant run to the championship. Based on music video views on YouTube, Up & Down received a bye and automatically advanced to Round 2 of the tournament. In Round 2, Up & Down defeated #9 I Feel Good 17-3, earning the most votes for a song up to that point in the tournament. In Round 3, Up & Down faced a more significant challenge in Every Night, but still won fairly easily, with the final score being 18-11. Then, the Semifinals came against DDD, another iconic EXID track. DDD came closest to defeating Up & Down, but still only earned 2/3 the number of votes that the eventual champion earned in an 18-12 win for the top seed. And finally, in the championship match against Miniskirt, the winner of the AOA bracket, Up & Down dominated from the start, winning 28-9.

But, it wouldn't be fair to acknowledge the accomplishments of Up & Down without also acknowledging the accomplishments of the winner of the AOA bracket, Miniskirt.

Like Up & Down, Miniskirt earned a bye in Round 1, and appeared nearly unstoppable in the next two rounds. In Round 2, Miniskirt defeated Bing Bing 18-2, and in Round 3, Miniskirt defeated Good Luck 15-7. Things became very interesting in the Semifinals for Miniskirt, when it faced off against Like A Cat. For the majority of the match, Like A Cat led by only one or two votes. But a few late votes for Miniskirt tied the match at 16 votes each as the 24-hour deadline hit. The match went to overtime, where once again, Like A Cat got out to a lead and held on to it for the majority of the overtime period. With only a few minutes remaining, Like A Cat led the overtime period 13-12. But Miniskirt earned the final two votes to outscore Like A Cat 14-13 in overtime, and 30-29 overall. However, Miniskirt could not make another miracle happen in the championship match.

This match was tied at 16 votes each at the end of regulation. In a 2-hour overtime voting period, Miniskirt defeated Like A Cat 14-13

As most of you know, I've been doing tournaments on AKP for a while now, and this was my first tournament that I conducted here on this site. It was really fun watching the tournament grow throughout the rounds, from matches only averaging 12-13 votes in Round 1 to close to 30 by the later rounds.

So I would like to make an announcement:
ALL TOURNAMENTS FROM NOW ON WILL BE HOSTED ON THIS SITE

This means that I will have a chance to revisit many of the old tournaments that I did on AKP. Which leads me to my next point:

FUTURE TOURNAMENTS
Instead of continuing with my plan from the other site, I will be redoing some of my former tournaments! That means that for the next tournament, I will be returning to the very first one I did:

Yeah I'm really interested to see what the newer songs do as well. And the seeds will probably change a bit too, since it's been a while with some of the older ones. I know DDDD was #3 when I did the BP tournament, but now it will obviously be ahead of AIIYL and Boombayah, pushing them down a spot and giving us new matchups.

I was really surprised at how Up & Down did, I didn't know it was that loved. I may not have gotten my DDD vs Heart Attack final but the tournament was a lot of fun.

How soon is the Blackpink tournament gonna be though? Since it seems like the comeback announcement could be soon.

I'll probably be doing it in a week or two. Even though I would love to do it around the time of their comeback, I don't want to be stuck waiting to do it if YG decides to not give them a comeback lol. But we'll see. If the comeback is confirmed within a week or two, I'll wait it out and do another (probably LOONA) first.
