^As the title says

I really loved her music when I was younger, I personally don’t listen to her current stuff but when I found out she was redoing her old albums I was extremely excited to say the least, especially for Speak Now because those are some of my favorite songs by her. I really love how she did all of them but Haunted and Love Story are by far my favorite, Haunted has always been one of my favorite songs by her and this new version just brings a new kind of rawness to the song.

I get it, it’s confusing to me too. Basically from what I understand, doing so means that the version of the song is higher quality since her voice has developed more since the original recording. She also gets more money from the song, and also has more control over when and where the songs can and can’t be used in media. She also gets to make a few lyric changes as need be and some other stuff like that.
