I love those honestly. They are my biggest weakness. I hate and love them all at the same time
Or more specifically I hate the ones where the person is a bully to the other but if they are like a one sided "I must defeat you!!!" those are my favorite fanfics

i like stories about kpop groups in their lives as idols

i dont like complete different world scenarios,

oh so like "canon" stuff. I like those too especially when they follow actual events and speculate stuff. I like seeing what people imagine to happen lol

I don't know for sure what Canon means but based on your elaboration, yeah. I do like the speculative specific event ones sometimes, but sometimes reading those the authors get wrapped up in it and some audience too and they almost act like that actually happened and it's tiring. I mostly like a mix. I don't want to read about Suho as a cafe barista or anything, but I do prefer things with some imagination, so that you don't really have specific events mentioned, it's like they are a band and they do concerts and it's about their idol life, but not specific really, not like mentioning specific dates and events so that it's clearer to everyone that's it's fiction and it's also cool to see what people do, with more free reign. That's where I also draw the line for ship fictions. Original characters make me uncomfortable so I like reading idol fics so that there's an actual name and face, but I don't want to connect the story to that name and face in real life. I prefer a clear alternate sense while still not bring unrealistic. If that makes sense.

For me personally, the idols should be a vessel for the story rather than the story a narrative for the idol.

My one acception is school/student fics, but I mean idols do go to school (though not in the way portrayed in those fics) so maybe that's why it's an exception? Who knows.

It means something is like the official version of events. Like if you are reading a book and and an author says the sky is purple it is canon the sky is purple in the book's world. Idk if I explained that too well lol

I see what you mean and I've read a few fics like this myself. Also, same on being uncomfortable with original character fanfiction. I am also not a fan of y/n (you insert your name).

I honestly don't have idea but like if it's about my ship for example Yuwin (don't hate me skksk) I would like it to be in real time, with concerts etc.

Or can be not in real time but it has to be a hella good fanfic. Written where I don't have to see NCT members going to EXO concert, more like every group in kpop industry now to be a normal person and new groups on the scene. (ik it's weird skksks)

I hate when I see members being brothers tho, goes for any member in any group lmao.

uhm non kpop would be amazing if it's something magical, supernatural or bad boy/good girl. Also would love to read a good zombie fanfic tbh.

FOR READING I ADORE ARRANGED MARRIAGE!

I also love the childhood friends, adult enemies, then lovers-that trope gets me but sadly the one I was reading was like BOOM BYE!

I also really like when authors get super creative. I remember reading a story where there was a tigress princess and EXO were wolf princes and the whole world was SUPER interesting. It sounds cheesy when I put it like that but legit it was written very beautifully and made the story come to life.

For my own writing though-I love dark hateful shit that blossoms into either a beautiful romance or a twisted romance.
