FIFTY FIFTY has inked a partnership with Warner Records!

The rising girl group, who has been rocketing up music charts all over the world with their viral hit “Cupid,” will officially be working together with both the U.S. label and Warner Music Group’s Korean subsidiary.

Ahn Sung Il, the co-CEO of FIFTY FIFTY’s agency ATTRAKT, commented, “We are grateful to Warner Records for the opportunity to discuss innovative ways to bring FIFTY FIFTY to the forefront of the music industry. We are thrilled to find that our thoughts and visions align with an artist-centered approach, and we are eager to explore potential avenues for success together.”

Tom Corson, Warner Records co-chairman and COO, and Aaron Bay-Shuck, co-chairman and CEO, remarked, “We are thrilled to partner with FIFTY FIFTY to amplify their global smash single ‘Cupid,’ and we know there is much more to come. The Warner Records team is excited to create additional opportunities for this powerhouse K-pop girl group.”

Meanwhile, FIFTY FIFTY shared in a joint statement, “We are so honored to be working with Warner Records, and we are excited to see what the future holds for us. We are looking forward to bringing more great music and content to our fans around the world. Thank you for your continued support and love>

According to Warner Records, “Cupid,” its English-language “Twin Version,” and its instrumental version have amassed a combined total of over 377 million global streams. After making FIFTY FIFTY the fastest K-pop group in history to debut on Billboard’s Hot 100, “Cupid” has been steadily climbing up the U.S. chart, where it broke the top 50 for the first time this week.

Interesting! And it's insane to read about this because didn't they debut not too long ago? [ Yes, I did a bit of research on them a while back... ]

It seems their label is aggressively trying to market them in the US and maybe other Western territories already by doing it so quickly!

I'm happy and scared for them. Warner will use it's size to bully them and their company... We want k-pop. Not Americanized bullshit.

Granted SM is bigger and more established than Fifty Fifty's company and Ik you're not a fan of aespa's music, but I don't think the stuff they've done with signing with Warner US is really "americanized". Their one English song, Life's Too Short, is sweet and easy listening but still identifiably kpop imo. Based on that, I want to say Warner has a decent enough track record going for them at least.

It's better to wait and see what comes of this. The reason why Fifty Fifty managed to get a deal like this so quickly was because of the rise of Cupid internationally, and if they are smart, they'll stick with a similar kind of style and I do think the management of Fifty Fifty is looking out for them thus far and probably wouldn't sign a crappy deal.

But again, we'll wait and see.

All very true! Those girls are amazing. I want them to succeed. To often American companies, especially large ones have a bad habit of the "this is what American's want so we have to do that". K-Pop really doesn't do well like that. I shall hope and see.
