This is not surprising to me. It seems like every label, or majority(?) of them, mistreat(s) their group artists to whatever extent, eventually.
Because, as you all may know, at the end of the day, they are businesses and profit is the only thing that matters so the artists are overworked, etc.
They're suckered in, chewed up, and spat out. Will it ever change? I highly doubt it.

I don't know about solo artists' treatment.
