I've come to realize something about season 1 now that I finished season 2. Actually, I had this feeling ever since season 1 ended.
Daphne and Simon did not convince me they loved each other. In the beginning, yes, I felt it. They were cute, there was angst, xyz flowers blooming oooolalal.
BUT
Simon never wanted to be trapped and Daphne surely did that when they were copulating and her intentions were deceitfully o.o . Ever since that moment, no amount of acting could convince me there was still love in Simon's eyes. When he was saying, "I burn for you" everyone was falling over their chair. Again, I was not convinced.
So moving onto season 2, I was a lot more convinced. The better season imo.
And another rant. I know it's fiction but the useless troubles people had. Worrying about society and marriage and what fabrics to wear.
It's so dumb. Yes, I know the show is all about that. IDC, let me rant. I hope they explore more of Elouis interests and passion for politics and women's rights. I loved Downtown abbey for the story they gave Sybel.
