Whats one thing from one language that doesnt make sense in another language?


'Clapping back' makes absolutely no sense in arabic. Like i dont even think it means to literally clap back it just sounds so stupid lol

Or in arabic, if you say "go eat a shoe" to someone its considered cussing which doesnt rlly mean cussing in english

Radish, which inspired my previous thread. In both languages it's a vegetable, but in Russian if you use it at a person it's an insult.

they use double negatives in Spanish, so to say "We don't have nothing" (literally) would actually be grammatically correct. lol (No tenemos nada in Spanish)

Yes......... and what about the difference between ser and estar? Both translate as "to be" in English; but................... "Ella es buena" vs "Ella está buena". Big difference. "She is good", the first one. The second one has sexual connotations.

A lot of normal words in my country sounds like swear words when you say it to an english person.
Like 'die', that means 'that' in my language.
