buy one 100 dollar pair of leggings from Lululemon/one 100+ dollar pair of leggings from fabletics



I choose the Walmart ones. they're comfortable and affordable
inspo from a kid complaining at school that her dad wouldn't let her get 3 pairs of leggings for 75 dollars. I understand that on their own they each cost 100+ but even 75 is still TOO MUCH. And then she said "he thinks i'm supposed to get those crappy ones from Walmart. nobody even wears those". I spoke up....."I have them and I'm wearing them right now"

I don't understand why somebody would spend so much money on those when you can get a comfortable pair for a far cheaper price.

also, it's come to my attention that really only the "popular girls" are allowed to wear leggings. I wear them bc they're more comfy than jeans and I sweat a whole lot less. I get stares bc I wear them.

In general: I would rather buy something once. If the $100 leggings last longer and are more comfortable, then I don't mind spending the money. Some of my most expensive purchases have been when I cheaped out initially and then had to buy the good quality version anyway.

People tend to overconsume at places like Walmarkt, Primaek or Shein, because they are cheap
But I don’t need ten sweaters at once, one or two are enough and if they are a bit more pricey then it's okay, as long as they have a good quality and are not made from children

that's fair, but I wear them everyday and i'd have to spend a thousand dollars for 10. that's how many I have rn from Walmart and they can last me up until we wash the next time. most of the time I end up going ten days without us washing. they've lasted me 3 years so far and hardly seem like they've even been worn. I just can't afford it.

Emphasis mine because facts. Learning more about how clothes are made has made me realize that it's not like a factory has fabric stuck in a machine at one end and a completed garment pops out at the other end. Crochet has to be hand made. Things like sequins and beading have to be stitched on by hand.

So when they're turned around and sold for $5, you know both the quality is crap and it was made by child/slave labor. And in general, people should be suspicious when the photos selling the garment look beautiful and exquisite and the price is less than a big Mac. You're either not getting what you ordered or you're getting something made unethically or both.
