i dont understand the hype around loona.
i was there for all their pre-debut releases, which were good, and their debut tracks were good, but its not mind blowing. i really dont like the path they're heading down now

the hype around loona is only internationally and on social media, other than that they're still kinda nugu chart and award wise ngl

Lets see: Forever Young was much better than D4... And I suppose this one is spicy as well: I think Black Mamba sounds just like D4.
the first one, I agree with. But D4 is more title track material. The second one I never actually thought of before. I guess it kinda does

i'm tired of people like on twitter and youtube comments saying that the "loona sound" defined only by their predebut era is gone because of how their title tracks sound now and yet those people don't even stream their bsides or hula hoop. the loona sound never left, people just can never be satisfied. they're complaining now but if loona kept doing the same sound they'd treat them like gfriend kard etc. saying that they release the same song multiple times.
YES THESE ARE THE TYPE OF OPINIONS I WAS LOOKING FOR!! While I miss their so-called “old sound” songs Pre debut and HH-Butterfly, I agree that people actually can’t be satisfied bc they don’t listen to the bsides. Hula Hoop/Starseed only came out recently, but they’re EXACTLY what Loona would’ve released when they had their old sound(which is what those people are looking for) but people ignore it. TBH it’s only their TT that have changed, but they just so happen to be the promoted and well-known songs. I would’ve loved if they kept their old concept/sound, but the change WORKED, which is why I like the newer TT. Maybe they would’ve gotten more popular if they’d continued with their old sound, or maybe it would’ve been ignored. then again they aren’t progressing with their current sound either too much, so idk at this point@eclipsoul what do you think?

Some Stray Kids fans act like the Big 3 privilege doesn't affect them just because they're not charting well and that's dumb as fuck! They're still getting tons of releases a year and are promoted better than JYPE female artists. Korean public might not be into their stuff but they are still a Big 3 group.
99% of Big 3 groups have privilege, And Stray Kids are definitely part of it. Idk what stays are saying 🙄 🙄

This is more to the opinion not you but....SECRET is the only girl group along with Sistar that constantly released the same song over and over again but just relabeled it...Gfriend & Kard are both groups that have a sound that fits them. Sometimes it can get old but it also can become a brand for those groups. With Kard I would say the first one happened but with Gfriend they kept their sound but changed up the style and managed to become iconic as a result of it.

LOONA having b-sides that sort of stick with their original style doesn't change the fact that what most NON FANS are going to listen to is the title tracks. Which are basic. If you aren't a fan naturally you will not go check out the b-sides if the title track doesn't intrigue you. If anything LOONA's company seems like they only care about the current fans and gaining attention overseas but seem to be neglecting the people that liked how they originally were...like I don't know me and others.

I legit hate the argument being made here about the b-sides. No offense but naturally if you want to grab fans produce great title tracks and then naturally they'll want to listen to the b-sides. What Loona has been releasing as of late is lackluster and not at all unique the way their original stuff was its honestly not fun to watch as someone who was really starting to get into them.

im not the person who sent the "skz & big 3 privilege" anon, but i wholeheartedly agree! and also, i'd like to add on to their point: skz also have the privilege of being a bg. bgs tend to sell far, far better than ggs (groups like snsd twice bp etc are an exception, mind you), and skz themselves sell pretty damn well. and, if you are a kpop act that sells well, you're set. therefore, skz are pretty privileged. i have a theory as to where this notion comes from. it is because jype have really marketed skz as being the underdogs. as skz are self producing, and have written so openly about their struggles. also bc stans really have this "saviour complex", and always like to view their faves as needing saving.

and to add more to this: i'm not saying people are not allowed to have their own opinion on what loona releases, i just think it is a bit tiring to see them complain about the loona sound being gone every single time since they went girl crush. i am not a huge fan of the girl crush concept either but they've had it for so long that maybe instead of always wanting them to go back to their previous style, some people should accept that loona's music is simply not their taste. and if someone misses the predebut style so bad then after all the predebut albums haven't gone anywhere you can listen to them all day everyday.
