Did you know that Passover can fall on the same day as Western Christian Easter, and Western Christian Easter can fall on the same day as Orthodox Christian Easter, but Orthodox Christian Easter can not fall on the same day as Passover? This is because in the Orthodox Church, Easter must fall after Passover. If the calculation of the date of Easter in the Orthodox Church coincides with Passover or falls before, Easter is moved to to be after Passover. Therefore, Western and Orthodox Easter can be on the same day (like this year), but Passover can only ever line up with Western Easter.

What’s interesting is that in the last 15 years, Easter has only fallen on April 20th once (soon to be twice), but both in 2014 and 2025 his birthday falls on both Easters. In 2014 both Easters were shared on April 20 also. I wonder if it’s a coincidence or if certain dates are more likely to have shared Easter’s

Omg I learnt about the Council of Nicea which basically decided this. Bishops and Emperor Constantine met up and argued about when and how they should celebrate, if they should fast or feast basically. Interesting shit

I think they should pick feast because eating yummy food is more fun that eating nothing But in actuality that does sound interesting, my knowledge about these types of things is actually pretty minimal because while I learned some stuff about history of religions in school, I didn’t peruse it farther, and didn’t grow up with any religion at home. Otherwise I may have known more about at least one denomination of one religion But I may look into it more at some point

he's going to be 26, so idk how many times before the last 15 years though
