Fun Fact of the Day #15 (1 Viewer)

[Ahsoka]

The saola, which is reminiscent if a small deer, is a rare and unique species. It was only discovered in Vietnam in 1992, and the first photograph of one in the wild was only obtained in 1999. Their characteristics are so unique that a new genus, Pseudoryx, was created simply so they could be assigned a classification. To this day they are critically endangered and at risk for poaching and hunting. No saolas are held in captivity either, meaning that the extinction of saolas in the wild would mean permanent extinction without any chance of returning.

Appreciate saolas
