Fun Fact of the Day #18 (1 Viewer)

[Ahsoka]

I forgot to do one yesterday so Ill do a second one later today, Im sorry.

Most moose calves are born being able to walk in just a few hours. In fact, after just a few days, a moose calf can outrun a human. Unfortunately, some are born small and weaker, and dont reach this stage as quickly. Calves like this are abandoned by the mother. While this seems cruel, there is a reason for it. Most of the time moose have no odor, making it difficult to attract predators. However, during the birth there would be remnants of blood and other substances with strong smells, attracting many predators and putting the other and other calves, if she has one, in danger.
