Gypsy is a word commonly used to describe Romani people. The word comes from "Egyptian" due to the fact that people used to think that was where they came from, rather than their true origin in India. However, this word soon became a derogatory term, and to this day it is considered offensive to these people. Romani is the term they identify with and the term that is more polite to use.

I didnt know it was offensive.OMG . To me it was for people leaving that bohemian life. Working like they can, selling arts, fortune tellers, poets, magician, whatever they could. Living that simple life with no strings attached. Im so dumb.
