Did you know Morse code was custom made for English? This is shown in the decisions for how many dashes/dots each letter has. Morse code was made to be time efficient, therefore letters that appear most often in English are given combinations quicker to send (ex. E is one dot and T is one dash in both American and International Morse), while less common letters are given the longer combinations (ex. Z is two dashes and two dots in international and 3 dots, one space, and one dot in American, while Q is 2 dashes, one dot, and one dash in international and 2 dots, one dash, and one dot in American).
