long story long, i'm bored and i can't sleep for the life of me, so i thought why not do something fun like rank music ?? i do love to give my opinion all too often, and discovering new bops is always a good time !! so hit me with three songs and i'll rank them from my favorite to least favorite, and maybe i'll throw in a mini review of what i liked about each song or a score as well !! thank you in advance for any requests i may receive !!

wowie does this bring back high school memories !! thank you for suggesting such nostalgic songs !! this made my night, not gonna lie !


1. produce48
mini review: the iconic "figaro" at the beginning, that gorgeous and muted build up to the start of the song, the lively and youthful beat and hopeful melody that conveys the girls' dreams and aspirations to us, the bubblegum edm chorus that swims around in your head for days on end or years in my case, and finally the emotional outro really make this song a standout masterpiece for me !! it would be a sin to place this song any lower, truly. it's deceptively cute and packs an emotional punch for me that i cannot shake for a survival show, it's a really solid track and i will stand by my opinion that this could be a really fun title track even !! a solid 8.5/10


2. produce 101 season 1
mini review: i enjoy how in your face this song is !! it is so loud and unabashedly unafraid to attack your heart with its cuteness and aggressive pace and powerful chorus. it's a tune that is sure to haunt you for better or worse with its repetitive bubbliness, and i can't say i mind at all !! as much as my emotional bias is telling me to put this song in first place, i have to admit that something about produce48's "pick me" is superior, if my previous review didn't already establish that already i love the breakdown in this song, and it's so energetic and over the top in the best way all whilst showing off the girls' various charms !! 7/10 for me !

3. produce 101 season 2
mini review: i really, really enjoy this song, even if it is in last place !! i only put it here by default as i did not follow season two closely, so this song does not have as much of a grip on me as the other two do, i'm afraid ! but i greatly appreciate the softer beginning to the song, and how it is more melodic than season one's !! it has such a passionate sound, and could also pass as a title track any day !! the vocals are angelic yet powerful at the same time, successfully grabbing at your heartstrings, and the breakdown really packs a punch ! 7/10 as well, i would say !!

first of all, how can one move on from soyeon's impassioned opening lines ???? she literally says she's a god, delivers her lines as if she is indeed one, and sells it convincingly at that !! from start to finish, the song is entirely too powerful, in a myriad of ways, to forget or ignore !! i can barely describe how amazing this song is except to say that it is excellently produced and well executed, and words cannot sufficiently express how it makes me feel ! saying i feel powerful is not enough ! everything about this song screams empowerment and superiority, and they really embodied this theme with their vocal prowess !! it's like the 4th gen version of "i am the best" by 2ne1 to me, so needless to say i really am in love with this song, especially as a 2nd gen stan !! a solid 8.5/10 !!

2. here i am
i adore strings in kpop songs, and they are the perfect build up to the fervid edm that barges in immediately after !! what a fake out, but not an unpleasant one at all !! i do kind of wish they had kept the strings more throughout the song, but it is still filled with energy and emotion aplenty nonetheless, and i enjoyed it immensely. the bridge was a rollercoaster in the best way, and the breakdown that followed bombarded my ears with pure noise in the most chaotic and pleasant way possible !! for a score, i think it's going to be a very solid 7/10 for me !!

3. the real
this song wasn't really something i would typically listen to, but it was still a fun and enlightening experience to do so !! i should probably inform you that i am listening to these songs and not watching the videos as i am typing my thoughts while listening, but i did happen to read some of the lyrics during the beautiful pre-chorus, and the message appears to appeal to me a bit !! the song is not just making a statement, but is a statement in itself, and i can get behind that however, as for my personal score, i would have to give it a 5/10 as it just is not my style but the pre-chorus was where it was at for me !!
