There's a huge difference between going "VIRAL" and "a whole bunch of people watching it".

Minho reacting to Wonyoung is not going viral. Alice Sohee never went viral. JYP making Itzy cry is not viral. So and so idol dancing to so and so song will never be viral.

Bar Bar Bar, Bboom Bboom, Cupid. That's fucking viral.

If I see one more post about an idol at the airport being nice to a fan (common courtesy) going viral I'm going to implant a Vir us into all my electronics to make it all crash so I don't have to look at kpop ever again.

Going viral literally just means spreading quickly and far through social media and email, so no, it really hasn't lost its meaning, you're just nitpicking. Not only that, I'd more than argue that "Cupid" never went truly viral because that virality was bought and paid for.
